Students under the aegis of National Association of Osun State Students (NAOSS) have given three days ultimatum to their state government to pay bursary.
They threatened that they would embark in a protest that would ground government activities.
The association also dismissed claims by government that bursary remained a privilege and not right.
In a release signed by NAOSS Chairman and Secretary, Comrades Animashun and Ganiyu Fatai respectively, copies of which were made available to newsmen in Osogbo, the group decried what it termed “anti-students policies in the education sector”.
The letter read in part, ” There is poor welfare package for the lecturers in state owned institutions, our bursary for 2013/2014 and 2014/2015 academic sessions have not also been paid.
“We have therefore resolved to take our future in our hands. We are giving state government three days ultimatum to meet our demands, else government should be expecting massive protest in the state.”
