Black Out hits Major Parts of Delta Community


…As Sex workers Lament Poor Patronage
Residents of Some Major Parts of warri and Effurun in Delta State have been without electricity Supply for Several days and have issued ten day Ultimatum to BEDC to retify the problem or face their protest.

The affected areas include: Kosimi by Airport road, Enerhen in Uvwie and many others as one of the residents Chief Akpojotor Adjarho lamented that it was extremely disappointing that their areas were without electricity Supply during electioneering periods, adding that the situation might linger if urgent steps are not taken to ratify what ever the problems.

Another resident, David Oke alleged sharp practices among BEDC Staff, especially what he described as sharing formula that has never been favorable to the consumers and called on Management of BEDC to Improve on their Services to avoid protest against it’s Services.

But BEDC Public Affairs Manager, Mrs Esther Okolie in a swift reaction however assured the consumers of BEDC Commitment to providing the best services adding that efforts were being made to ensure good services and blamed the problem on logistics .

Meanwhile, Commercial Sex workers In Abraka Community have lamented poor patronage by Consumers, saying that business has been bad for the past two weeks for them.

The sex workers who spoke to Journalists at the weekend said the development had endeared some of them to relocate to other parts of the State adding that customers for fear of the unknown deserted Abraka Community for other areas where they could have their pleasure unhindered.

It was gathered that Police detectives in Abraka Community have started full scale Investigation into activities of suspected Yahoo Yahoo boys operating in Abraka Community and its environs and as such many of the Sex workers patrons are alleged to be Yahoo Yahoo boys who make love often as part of their rituals.

But one of the commercial sex workers who gave her name as Chinoye Egbo said” Business has not been booming Since police Started Chasing Yahoo Yahoo boys, the Yahoo Yahoo boys pay us more,we thinking of relocating else where for our business to move”
