In its bid to drum support for President Goodluck Jonathan’s re-election, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue has taken its presidential rallies to the villages.
The Coordinator of the Jonathan/Sambo Campaign in the state, Mr Sam Odeh, made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Makurdi on Friday.
According to Odey, the essence of the grassroots campaign was to drum support for President Goodluck Jonathan in the election.
He said the campaign organisation was leaving nothing to chance in its efforts to achieve maximum support for the president in his re-election bid in March.
Odeh, a former Minister of state for the Niger Delta, said the party had concluded arrangements for the commencement of its campaign in Katsina-ala, in Benue North-East Senatorial district on Friday.
The coordinator said the rallies would be held in all the senatorial districts of the state before March 28 dateline for the polls.
He appealed to the people of the state to turn out en masse for the rallies slated in their zones, explaining that party leaders would educate them on the imperative of re-electing the president.
