The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has called on the President-elect, Gen. Mohammadu Buhari to use his new office to work towards greater unity of the country.
Speaking through its National Chairman, Chief Victor Umeh, APGA while congratulating Buhari on his victory, said it was a turning point in the history of Nigeria to make every part of the country feel the sense of belonging.
“We congratulate the new President for winning the election and President Jonathan for ignoring those hawks around him to concede victory to Buhari. We are optimistic that Buhar’s coming will restore liberty to the people of the south east just as the coming of Christ restored liberty to the humanity”, Umeh envisaged.
He also appealed the incoming administration of APC not to view the Southeastners as enemies, because according to him, the Igbos were seeking for opportunity to address their problems already codified in the CONFAB resolutions which Jonathan was promising to implement.
“Now that President Jonathan we hoped to address the anomalies did not make it, we are pleading on Gen. Buhari to adopt the resolution. It is for the good of the country; he has the responsibility to bring every part of this country back to the centre using his presidential powers”, Umeh hinted.
