The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Monday joined Muslim faithful across the country in rejoicing with them over the beginning of the Holy Month of Ramadan in which the Holy Qur’an revealed as a blessing and mercy to all mankind.
In a statement issued by the APC National Secretary, Mai Mala Buni on behalf of the Party, religious leaders were enjoined to always promote religious harmony, tolerance and peaceful co-existence between and among various religious affiliations and also enjoined Muslim faithful to rededicate themselves to the worship of God and service to humanity.
As Muslims commence the mandatory Ramadan fast, Mai Mala Buni also urged Muslim faithful to use the period to pray for the peace, development and prosperity of the country.
He assured Nigerians that the implementation of palliative measures and social safety nets contained in the 2016 National Budget will ease the economic hardships in the country.
His words: “As President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration works assiduously to build a new solid foundation, credible image and pull the country out of the present hardships, the APC appeals for patience and cooperation from Nigerians. The APC calls on Nigerians to pray and support the administration as it continues to develop and implement socio-development initiatives for the good of the country.”
