Ahead of the 2019 general elections , the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in line with the party’s guideline, has officially released its primaries timetable for aspirants contesting elective positions on the platform of the party.
The party also fixed the nomination and indication of interest for the Presidential position for N45 million and for other elective positions as agreed by the National Working Committee (NWC).
The party in a statement signed on Tuesday by its National Organising Secretary, Emma Ibejiro, at the party national secretariat in Abuja, said that the party will on Wednesday (today), begin the sale of nomination and expression of interest forms for all elective offices ahead of the 2019 general election.
It has, however, fixed the presidential nomination form at N40 million and Expression of Interest form at N5 million, with a total of N45million which President Muhammadu Buhari is expected to pay.
According to the timetable released on Tuesday night in Abuja, aspirants seeking to contest governorship position are to pick the nomination form for N22.5 million while expression of interest is N2.5 million.
For the Senate, the nomination form costs N7 million while the expression of interests costs N1 million.
Nomination form for the House of Representatives cost N3.5 million and the expression of interest is N350, 000. As for the state House of Assembly, the nomination form costs N750, 000 while the expression of interest is fixed for N100, 000.
The document said: “There shall be no separate charge for deputy”, while “female aspirants and physically challenged aspirants are to pay 50 percent of the prescribed fees for each position”.
Presidential aspirants are expected to pick the forms at the National Secretariat accordingly.
According to the statement, nationwide congresses are slated for Wednesday, September 12 to select delegates while appeals arising from congresses will be for Thursday, 13th to Friday 14th September, 2018.
Screening of aspirants seeking to purchase forms will hold from Saturday, 15th to Tuesday 18th September, while appeals arising from the conduct of screening of aspirants will be heard on Wednesday, 18th to Tuesday 20th September.
The Presidential Primaries to elect the presidential candidate through direct primaries will be held on Thursday, 20th September, 2018.
