The All Progressives Congress (APC) has commenced its membership registration exercise nationwide in preparation for the 2019 general election as stipulated by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The party also released dates for its primary elections to choose candidates for the forthcoming general election nationwide.
In a press statement on Wednesday signed by its Acting National Publicity Secretary, Yekini Nabena said the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party has approved the immediate continuation of nationwide registration exercise.
The statement said: “The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has approved the immediate recommencement of the Continuous Nationwide Membership Registration exercise in all 36 States and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
“The decision follows calls from members of the public interested in joining our great Party to support the Change Agenda of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led APC administration.
The exercise will include both fresh registrations and revalidation of existing membership for the purposes of issuance of the Party’s permanent membership cards”.
The party thereby urges its teeming supporters and members to take advantage of the exercise.
The party also said State House of Assembly primaries would hold on September 15, while the Federal House of Representatives Primaries holds on September 19 with the Senate primaries fixed for September 23 and September 28 for the Governorship primaries.
According to the party Acting National Publicity Secretary Nabena, the presidential primary of the APC has been slated for October 6, 2018.
