Anyone who opposes my second term bid will be grinded into ashes, says Umahi

The Ebonyi State governor, Chief David Umahi, has said that anyone who tries to truncate his second term bid will be smashed into ashes, as 29 political parties in Abuja, have already adopted him as their sole candidate in the forthcoming general elections.

Umahi who said this while addressing the people of the old Ohaozara political bloc at a rally organised by Ohaozara, Onicha and Ivo Local Government Areas to adopt him (Umahi) as their sole candidate for the 2019 election at Obiozara, headquarters of Ohaozara LGA, said, “The parties would storm the state in February to formalise the adoption and anyone who tries us would be injured because if the person falls on us, he will be grinded into granite and if we fall on him, he will be grinded into ashes.

He noted that he and his deputy have accepted to continue this divine work and anyone who tries to terminate it would face God’s anger and might not be there during his swearing-in ceremony.

“I will pay full attention to the politics of the general elections from January 1, 2019 and it would be like Tsunami, something that has never been seen before.”

He noted that Ebonyi State would record more than one million votes during the elections, noting that the adoption of some candidates for other positions was irrevocable.

“They must however work out their own salvation and take care of the parties, empower the youths and widows in their constituencies as we would be watching them.”

He noted that he was reviewing his support for some people whom he wanted to call their names but the state’s deputy governor begged him not to call their names.

“We would withdraw our support for them, stop infrastructural works in their areas, tell their people that they are the cause of the stoppage, so that they would be chased with brooms, umbrella and cocks.”

Umahi noted that however, Hon. Linus Okorie, member representing Ohanivo Federal Constituency and the state House of Assembly Deputy Speaker, Chief Obasi Odefa would be returned unopposed.

He urged the people of Abakaliki bloc to continue supporting him and promised to hand over power to them when he finishes his second term in 2023.

“You should allow me complete this my small second tenure because it is sweet and know that any member of opposition from the south who says he would serve a tenure will be deceiving the people.”

Earlier in a remark, his elder brother and the South East Zonal Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Austin Umahi said that the PDP would use Umahi as a tool to take power from Aso Rock because he is a marketable product.

“We should work harder to achieve this goal as the public office holders from the south zone would organise a mega-rally on March 17, to tell the world that only PDP exists in Ebonyi State.
