Anambra Women Group Urges APGA to Accept Defeat

A group of women, under the aegis of Women of Honour International, has congratulated the Senator-elect for Anambra Central senatorial zone, Mrs.UcheEkwunife, for her victory and urged members of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, (APGA) to accept defeat.

The group, led by the National President, Mrs. NkemOdunze, also called on the candidates of APGA, especially, Chief Victor Umeh, to accept the outcome of the last National Assembly elections in the state.

Odunzealso challenged Umeh to toe the line of honour by accepting defeat, adding that every politician, defeated at the polls, should emulate President Goodluck Jonathan, who readily accepted defeat to avoid any bloodshed.

She also called on Governor Willie Obiano to desist from sowing the seed of discord among stakeholders in the state, but, see himself as the father of all Anambrarians and not only APGA.

“It has become imperative to make this call as women and mothers of this great state to urge APGA members, who lost out in the last National Assembly election, to accept the results as the wishes of NdiAnambra, demonstrated through their ballots. We also call on Chief Victor Umeh and other contestants on the platform of APGA, to stop further moves to drag the moving train back to court in the name of election tribunal, especially, when it is obvious he was beaten at the polls”, Odunze added.
