Anambra Rep candidate flays sick report

Contrary to newspaper report that the member representing Onitsha North II Constituency in the Anambra House of Assembly, Engr. Emeka Idu, was not medically fit to stand any future election as a candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), he has declared such a report a ploy by his detractors to intimidate him out of the National Assembly contest.
Idu, who spoke to journalists at a campaign rally in Okpoko, Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra State, said that all the antics and protests by his fellow contenders were to discredit him and have a mediocre as a candidate of the party for the race. He asked: “Does a spinal cord injury patient move about freely, standing and addressing the electorates at political rallies? Here I am talking to the electorates.
“The people are now wiser as they will vote for credible candidates. My past achievements, as a law-maker in Anambra State, will speak for me. A lot of youths and widow empowerment programmes and provision of social infrastructure are my added advantage.”
