Amnesty office empowers 150 ex-militants from Bayelsa, Rivers, Delta

No fewer than 150 Niger Delta ex-militants drawn from Bayelsa, Delta and Rivers states were yesterday empowered with starter packs according to their skills by the presidential amnesty office at the amnesty training centre in Orubiri community of Kolokuma /Opokuma local government area of Bayelsa State.

The special adviser to the president on Niger Delta amnesty, and coordinator amnesty office, Prof Charles Peter Dokubo, said the initiative is to empower Niger Delta ex-agitators, adding that everybody captured in the programme no matter where he or she is from will be carried along and empowered accordingly.

Prof Dokubo disclosed that, “The programme is to ensure that our people are empowered and make them lay their hands on meaningful ventures”.
