The Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry has said it remained on the part of advancement in ensuring that FCT becomes one of the most powerful trade hubs within the African.
The first Deputy President of Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Prince Adetokunbo Kayode CON, SAN stated this during the ground breaking ceremony of Shoprite Air-port road, Abuja.He said, since the establishment of Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry in 1986 as a company limited by guarantee with the principal objective of promoting economic and industrial development within FCT and Nigeria in general, stressing that the Chamber has remained on the part of advancement in ensuring that FCT becomes one of the most powerful trade hubs within the African continent before 2020.
The 1st deputy opined that the Chamber has been doing all that through effective networking, innovative and proactive business strategies that has attracted investments worth billions of dollars into the Nigeria economy which the Shoprite is a clear testimony.
He informed the audience that today marks another history in the Chamber’s quest to make Abuja a “Dubai-like” City as plans are on going to build an all in-one 1st International Exhibition Centre within the ACCI premises that will accommodate 7 Star Hotel for International and local Exhibitors and a shopping mall being what the ground breaking ceremony is being performed today.
He noted that the socio-economic benefits of the projects being executed by Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry through her partners to host communities, Local, State and Central governments cannot be overemphasized as it is going to aid in curbing the unemployment situation in Nigeria even in the face of global economic recession and further propagate economic activities within the Federal Capital Territory.
He called on investors to channel their investments to Nigeria given that Nigeria is one of the 28 African countries rank in the top 50 emerging and developing economies according to the real GDP growth projections for 2017 which stood at 6.6 per cent according to IMF outlook and portend great opportunities for investors.
Prince Adetokunbo pointed out that the use of affordable and scalable skilled human resources in Nigeria is another plus for potential investors.
He added that Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry is pleased to be part of the ground breaking ceremony given the fact that it is her mandate to contribute to the holistic development of the Federal Capital Territory in particular and our great nation Nigeria at large.
