ABSHA in alliance with state executive – Speaker

Contrary to oppositions’ expectation, the Abia State House of Assembly is working in harmony with the state Executive arm of government in the state headed by Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu.

This was the position the Speaker, Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Bar. Chikwendu Kalu Saturday in Nkata Primary School, Nkata Ibeku as the people of Nkata village and the entire Umuahia East State Constituency, rolled out the drums to endorse their representative at the state red chamber for a second tenure.

“Irrespective of the fact that he is the governor of the state, he is an embodiment of intellectual capacity. The House, all agreed with him in terms of the development of the state”, he said assuring “Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu will be a better governor (in terms of) whatever we have seen now”.

Rt. Hon. Kalu thanked the Old Bende people for helping make an Ukwa/Ngwa man a governor, stating “that an Ngwa man is today a governor, they made it”, assuring the people that when the time comes, “we will reciprocate”.

While urging Abians to vote Ikpeazu for the second time, described ALL Progressive Alliance, APC as not a party in the state, while welcoming and assuring some APC faithful who decamped during the occasion to PDP that “the umbrella is big enough to accommodate all”.

While describing the occasion as symbolic, the Speaker said this is one of the rear occasions people are appreciating one of their own remarking, “It is better to fail an election outside my community than to fail in my community”.

The Speaker who pulled many of the members of the House of Assembly to the occasion said “Hon Chukwudi Apugo has every reason to thank God for being appreciated by his people”.

He advised Nkata people that when fielding someone for any election, “take people that is humane, disciplined and one with passion for humanity”, describing Hon Apugo as one of the people that make the House to be peaceful and quiet.

According to him, “What Nkata Ibeku people have done is to field their first eleven” and advised them to replicate what they did in 2015 for Apugo, come 2019.

In his speech, the celebrant and member representing Umuahia East in the State House of Assembly, Hon Chukwudi Apugo said he was loved by his people, stating “because of this, I will not disappoint you”. He urged them to also vote for Hon. Chinedu orhi of Umuahia Central, Sen. T. A. Orji and Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu, come 2019.

He disclosed that there are no other parties in Nkata Ibeku, assuring “no matter how many times votes are cast, PDP will still win in Nkata”, and appreciated his people with a cash reward N30, 000 each to 42 people, promising to do more soon.

In his speech, the chairman of the occasion, Augustine Mbanaso said the crowd during the occasion was the first of its kind for a worthy Nkata son and thanked the people for coming together to say “welldone” to their worthy son, Chukwudi Apugo who has made them proud.

Also speaking, the chairman, planning committee of the event, Chief Chidiebere Mbanaso, who highlighted some achievements of Hon. Apugo and moved for the adoption of the of the politician as their sole candidate come 2019 as their first son to represent them at the red chamber.
