As a legislator, he said he has played dual role as a vehicle that represent the views and concerns of Edo North before the government and also represent government through physical projects and developmental initiatives, as well as presenting petitions on behalf of communities at various period of distress.
While appealing to politicians to guide against unguided utterances and lousy leadership, Senator Alimikhena said that political debates are not chaos.
“The inevitable disagreements and issues that arise at election periods are all part of the democratic dispensation and must not be mistaken for chaos. debates and arguments are part of democracy, but politicians must desist from the habit of instigating conflict from the natural democratic process.
“Democracy remains the most peaceful means of ensuring leadership succession and must not be turned into war.
“If unending bickering and violence from political conflict has not set us back as a nation then it has definitely given us a bad reputation in the international world.
We must break the fire of partisan political struggle and compete in terms of development as political parties and not in terms of mudslinging.”
He appealed to the stakeholders to deployed necessary machinery to ensure the victory of the APC at every level.
“In 2015 Edo North made the nation proud as the only Senatorial district in the South South that produced a Senator and now that we have the National Chairman of the APC in our constituency we must all be committed to ensure that PDP will not win any polling unit in the entire Edo State.
We are not only concerned in coasting to victory in Edo North, but we must coast to victory in Edo State, coast to victory in the entire South South states and Nigeria as our utmost goal,” Senator Alimikhena said.
