Senator Jonah Jang, representing Plateau North in the National Assembly, has declared his intention to contest the 2019 general elections, putting to rest the rumour making rounds for several months that he would run for presidency.
The Daily Times recalls that when Jang was detained by the Economic and Financial Crime (EFCC), earlier in the year, political observers alleged that he was being witch hunted by the presidency because of his presidential ambition.
However, on Tuesday in Jos, the Plateau State capital, at the People’s Democratic Party Secretariat, the Senator cast the die announcing his intention to run for the number one seat in the country.
