BREAKING: Senator Obiorah on the run as IG orders arrest over Daily Times invasion

Senator Ikechukwu Obiorah has abandoned his residence following an order by the Inspector-General of Police to arrest him after his illegal actions against the publisher and staff of the Daily Times of Nigeria.

Recall that last week, Senator Obiorah had led a team of policemen to arrest some staff of the newspaper at its Agidingbi premises in the latest escalation of a dispute over the ownership of Nigeria’s legacy media publication with the publisher, Fidelis Anosike.

The police have ordered a full investigation into the incident and illegal actions of Senator Obiorah led by DIG Hycent Dagala along with ACP Njoku and SP Elizabeth Eze and it was pursuant to that that the police visited the Obiorah residence in Abuja this morning.

More to follow.
