The Spiritual Director of Catholic Adoration Ministry, Enugu (AMEN), Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, who had earlier warned President Goodluck Jonathan of abysmal defeat in the hands of his major challenger, Gen. Mohammadu Buhari (rtd) at the polls, for his alleged non-performance, has been eulogised by many in Onitsha for being courageous and outspoken.
Fr. Mbaka, a radical priest, who on the eve of the 31st of December, 2014, told his congregation in a crusade of the impending defeat of the ruling party and its presidential candidate because of the monumental corruption and insecurity of lives and property that pervaded the entire country.
The cleric in that speech, which was recorded and sold by street hawkers across major streets of Onitsha and the entire South East, had allegedly criticised the leadership style of President Goodluck Jonathan where he accused the president of being indifferentto corruption among members of his ruling PDP hierarchy and the entire government machinery.
He also accused the Federal Government of doing nothing to combat poverty, corruption and the abject neglect of social infrastructure in the South East region of the country. Majority of the PDP supporters and sympathisers of the president, criticised him for being critical of President Jonathan and warned him (Mbaka) to desist from making political pronouncements as an ordained man of God.
