Majority of students of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife voted for All Progressives Congress against their ex-lecturer from KOWA Party presidential candidate, Prof. Remi Sonaiya.
Sonaiya, a female aspirant, was a professor of French Language and Linguistics at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun state.
Earlier, Daily Times had reported that students Union of OAU asked its members to vote for Sonaiya, in today’s election.
This was done through pasting of several posters in departmental boards and broadcast through the Students Union official BlackBerry channel.
The broadcast was complemented with a message that read, “Support our ex-lecturer of Kowa Party for president.”
Apart from that, Sonaiya also attended several conferences and programmes aimed at canvassing the students to vote for her.
But after the poll, APC had the highest votes in the institution with Peoples Democratic Party as runner-up.
