The Chairman, Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA), Engineer Jide Adeniji, has lamented the failure of card reader in some polling units.
Adeniji who is the Osun state Coordinator of Jonathan/Sambo campaign organisation, spoke during his accreditation at Isedo, Ward 2, Unit 4, in Ila-Orangun.
While expressing worries over the reported denial of president Goodluck Jonathan by the card reader, Adeniji said, “If number one citizen can so find it difficult to be accredited, there is a question mark.”
“The card reader in my unit was functional, but they were not functional in other three polling units, and I told the voters to exercise patience because the fact that the card reader was not functional does not mean that they won’t vote.
“Electoral law says that certain kind of form should be given to people.”
On his part, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Osun Central Senatorial District, Oludaisi Aina, commended the peaceful conduct of election in the state.
Speaking at his Iresi country home in Boluwaduro Local Government, he said he was manually accredited when the card reader was not functional.
Accredited at ward 10, unit 7, Aina said the election has been peaceful from the report he had received.
